Irish Cheese Awards at SHOP 2011

Sheridans Cheesemongers are thrilled to be helping to organise the second annual Irish Cheese Awards. Previously an International Cheese Awards event, we are delighted to say that all the fourteen categories of cheese are packed with entries from cheese makers across Ireland. The awards are judged by an independent panel of experts and the categories are as follows:

  • Bloomy Rind
  • Blue Cheese
  • Flavour Added
  • Fresh Cheese
  • Goats Milk Cheese
  • Hard under 6 months
  • Mature over 6 months
  • New Cheese
  • Semi Soft
  • Sheeps Milk Cheese
  • Creamery Cheddar Under 9mths
  • Creamery Cheddar Over 9mths
  • Supreme Champion

Last year’s overall winner was Peter Thomas’ Bellingham Blue, with Gold Medals being awarded to:
