We held our Harvest Festival on Sunday 5th September to celebrate food grown or produced within a 50 mile radius.

Our Harvest Festival followed on from the huge success of our Irish food festival in May 2010, when over forty Irish food producers and more than 3,500 people attended. We were joined at this recent festival by producers and growers from Co Meath and the surrounding area.

About Us

Sheridans Cheesemongers is run by its' owners - Kevin Sheridan, Seamus Sheridan and Fiona Corbett. The company was founded in 1995, when brothers Seamus and Kevin started selling Irish farmhouse cheeses at the Galway market. Shortly after we opened a shop in Galway with Irish farmhouse cheeses piled from floor to ceiling. Fiona joined in 1997 and Dublin markets and a shop on South Anne Street in the city centre were established that year. The Irish cheeses were quickly joined by their European cousins as well as a huge range of other artisan foods including olive oils, cured meats, condiments and pasta sourced during  travels in Europe.

Since our first foray in to the world of cheese from a small market stall, we have expanded our business to include a total of four retail outlets, 6 market stalls and a purpose built premises with Warehouse, offices and Maturing Rooms in County Meath. It is on the site of the Old Virginia Road Railway Station; from there we supply our many trade customers.

Our Products

We are passionately committed to sourcing highest quality artisan products and forging links directly with the food producers. The close relationships we have with our suppliers are of the utmost importance to the ethos of the company. Many of the farmhouse cheeses and foods are handmade locally in Ireland and we have a wide selection of delicious artisan produce from all over Europe.

We stock a list too long to print of Irish Farmhouse cheeses, but which features cheese such as Durrus, Clonmore, Coolea and Cooleeney Raw Milk Cheese. We have ensured that we source the best of continental cheeses available; to single out a few- Cravero Parmigiano Reggiano, Dongé Brie de Meaux, Marcel Petit Comté. We put a lot of effort in to ensuring that our cheeses reach you at optimum levels of ripeness and maturity.

Our other products include Rustichella d’Abruzzo Pastas, Ortiz Tunas, Prunotto Italian Pasta sauces and cheese accompaniments and Luscombe Organic Drinks.

Of course it is hard to be passionate about cheese without also developing a love of good wine. Over the years we have sourced an array of wines from across Europe, with a particular focus on Italy. You can find our wines in Sheridans Shops, as well as good retailers and restaurants throughout the country.

Our kitchen has created a small range of great products with the Sheridans Cheesemongers brand. These are our award-winning Brown Bread Crackers for Cheese, Rye & Linseed and Mixed Seed Crackers for Cheese; Duck Confit, Pesto and Chutney for Cheese.

Our Shops

We and all who are part of the team at Sheridans have worked hard to gain our reputation as Irelands leading cheese retailer. We believe that the single most important factor in this has been the experience which customers have each and every time they shop with us - from the quality of produce, to the knowledgeable and friendly staff, to the way we serve and present cheeses. We are always keen for the customer to participate and taste as they buy.

We have shops in Dublin and Galway City Centre, Ardkeen in Waterford, Market stalls in the greater Dublin area and Galway as well as our warehouse shop in Meath.

Many of the best of Ireland’s retailers also stock Sheridans products so you can find them  throughout Ireland.

Wholesale

We are continually expanding our wholesale business operation. We supply to restaurants and shops across Ireland, as well as exporting Irish cheeses to Europe.

Our own experience in the retail and the catering trade has meant that we can bring a lot more to the relationship with our wholesale customers than other suppliers. We work with our trade customers (through staff training and product selection) to ensure that both the business customers and the end retail customers always get the best possible experience when purchasing Sheridans products.
